I Can’t Wait!

I understand your pain!

Icky Thump, the new Stripes album, will soon arrive on June 15, but that’s 12 painful days away. What on earth will you do with all those hours in between!?

Here are a few suggestions to help you cope with the agonizing wait:

1) Listen to every previous Stripes album in its entirety: the distinctly Detroit sound of their self-titled debut, the Dutch art-inspired De Stijl, the Lego-powered rock of White Blood Cells, the mammoth and memorable Elephant and the piano-driven Get Behind Me Satan.

2) Visit Broken Bricks and learn to play all of Jack’s savage riffs!

3) Enjoy a few music videos directed by Michel Gondry, the Malloys and others!

4) Check out these wonderful pieces of fan-art: 1, 2, 3, 4!

About The White Stripes

This site is about the group White Stripes. White Stripes is an American rock music duo from Detroit, Michigan, consisting of Jack White (principal songwriter, vocals, guitar, piano) and Meg White (drums, percussion, vocals). The group rose to prominence as part of the garage rock revival with their successful albums White Blood Cells and Elephant. The White Stripes are known for their raw, low-fidelity sound and simplicity of composition and arrangement, mostly inspired by punk rock, hard rock, American blues, folk rock, and country music. July 14, 2007, marked their tenth anniversary as a band, with a show held at the Savoy Theatre in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, selling out in twelve minutes.
